What is the Alzheimer InfoLine?

The Alzheimer InfoLine is a confidential service of the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia providing information, education, guidance and emotional support to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. We listen to your questions and concerns and together we explore options.

Who is the InfoLine for?

The Alzheimer Infoline is for anyone with questions or concerns about Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. This includes :

· People living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias
· Caregivers
· Family
· Friends

What kind of information and support does the InfoLine provide?

· Information about memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
· Understanding and support for people with dementia and their family and caregivers
· Practical information about day-to-day living
· Discussion and exploration around tougher issues
· Support with decision-making and planning
· Information about and referral to other services in your community
· Someone to talk to if you are having a bad day

With your permission we will send you print resources and provide follow-up support.

Who will I speak to?

The InfoLine service is provided by a team of knowledgeable and caring staff and volunteers. Many of them have personal experience as caregivers or are family members of persons with dementia.

Is it confidential?

Yes, all of our services are private and confidential.
